Spring has finally sprung, and we are basking in its warm glow as we head towards the summer months.

From April 19th through May 20th, the energies of Taurus season are the ones calling the shots. What this may mean is that you find yourself settled into your routines. Generally, Tauruses dislike change. A single word to describe them would be “content”. They feel comfortable in the way that they live their life and feel the most in control when everything goes according to schedule.

During this Taurus season, allow yourself to find comfort in your routines. There does not always have to be something new and spontaneous appearing in your life in order for it to be worthwhile. Use this time to hone the skills you already possess and gain a new level of mastery into the person you have already become.

However, it is important to be wary of stagnation. You do not want to be so content to the point that you become complacent and do not allow yourself to change, even when it could be for the better. It is a challenge for Tauruses to accept the fact that some change is inevitable, and that different does not always mean bad.

Taurus is one of three Earth signs, along with Capricorn and Virgo. Earth signs are known for being steadfast and loyal. Among all of the signs, they are the ones that tend to be the most reliable. If you’re going through a rough time, an Earth sign is someone you would likely find by your side. Earth signs tend to steer clear of big risks and go about life in a practical manner. They know their limits and the extent of what they are comfortable with.

Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus. Venus is the Roman goddess of love, beauty, and desire; her Greek parallel is Aphrodite. In astrology, Venus controls love and harmony, and among other things, your personal values and tastes. This is why Tauruses may view romance and love as a natural part of life that is just as important as any other ambition one may have. Besides ruling Taurus, Venus also rules Libra.

A few herbs or flowers that share qualities with Tauruses are: Sage, Rose, Thyme, Rosemary, and Mint. Sage is an antioxidant that can also be used as a natural cleanser. Rose is an aphrodisiac, matching Taurus's affiliation with the planet Venus. Thyme can be used both to add flavor and to help boost your immune system with its many vitamins. Rosemary has antibacterial and antifungal properties, helping Tauruses stay healthy and strong. Mint is similarly rich in nutrients and adds a freshness that can help to clear your mind.

Some Tauruses you may know are Britain's Queen Elizabeth (April 21), Channing Tatum (April 26), Adele (May 5), Billy Joel (May 9), and Robert Pattinson (May 13)! Here at Lit Rituals, we have two Taurus witches, Annelle and Crystal.

Other things to look forward to during Taurus season are: Earth Day celebrating all that the Earth provides and focusing on environmental protection on April 22nd (how fitting since Taurus is an Earth sign!), Eid al-Fitr on May 1st and 2nd marking the end of Ramadan, Cinco de Mayo on May 5th commemorating the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the French in the Battle of the Puebla in 1862, and Mother’s Day on May 8th.

Happy Taurus season, everyone!
